This year, UBC researchers and health advocates have made breakthroughs in suicide awareness research.
In November, the UBC Men’s Health Research group launched an art exhibition in downtown Vancouver. The art tells the story of gay and bisexual men who have struggled with depression and suicidal thoughts or who have lost a male in their lives to suicide.
Join hockey fans at UBC’s Thunderbird Stadium this Friday, Jan. 6, to watch a great game of hockey and honour the life of goalie Laura Taylor with a jersey retirement ceremony.
Noted UBC psychology researcher, Dr. David Klonsky, published an article on “suicide, suicide attempts, and suicidal ideation”, investigating the relationship between thoughts about suicide and suicide attempts. Through his research, he aims to inform the next generation of suicide inquiry and prevention.
